The Suburban Rail Loop to Connect Victorian Suburbs

The biggest public transport project in Australia’s history is coming to Victoria.

The Victorian Government has already embarked upon the biggest transport building program ever with the Level Crossing Removal Project, Mernda Rail Extension and the Airport Rail Link plan to name a few.

But now it’s time for the Suburban Rail Loop! This will be a key transport project that will slash congestion across the entire rail network, not to mention congestion on our roads. This loop will connect all of Melbourne’s rail lines, starting at Cheltenham and ending at Werribee. It will also connect regional commuters to the suburbs without having to go into the city first.

The Suburban Loop will potentially have stations at Doncaster, Bundoora (in our electorate), Broadmeadows and Melbourne Airport. This means trains directly from Bundoora to the airport and trains to La Trobe University

Not only will this connect Victorians to key transport hubs, but it will better connect them to jobs, universities and TAFEs, hospitals and retail centres.
